Pristina, June 10, 2016 – Two USAID|Kosovo Programs – Agriculture Growth and Rural Development Opportunities and the EMPOWER Credit Support – organized one-day workshop on financing businesses for agriculture sector in Kosovo. The workshops, which are targeted roundtable discussions, covered topics related to Financial Literacy and the role of the KCGF.

The aim of the workshop is to interactively discuss with businesses the options of financing their business, while informing them regarding the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund: what is it and how does it function.

During the workshop, enterprises exchanged viewpoints and experiences identifying challenges and opportunities in improving their business and getting greater access to finance from lenders. MSMEs were also informed regarding lender requirements and expectations. AGRO enterprises highly valued the establishment of the credit guarantee fund and see it as an opportunity for obtaining finance for them and other underserved economic sectors.

EMPOWER Credit Support organized two workshops with AGRO businesses: (1) for dairy sector on May 31, 2016 and (2) fruit producers on June 10, 2016 gathering businesses from Pristina, Peja, Prizren, and so.

EMPOWER Credit Support will continue organizing targeted workshops with MSMEs for various sectors in different municipalities.
