Today, at the premises of the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF), was signed agreement with KRK – Kreditimi Rural i Kosovës
This agreement was signed to guarantee agricultural loans within the KCGF Agro Window.
This event marks the further expansion of the agreements that KCGF implements during this year with Microfinance Institutions by offering agricultural loan guarantees to local farmers and agrobusinesses.
Mr. Lulzim Sadrija, Executive Director of KRK, stressed out that the signing of the agreement of Microfinance Institutions with KCGF will have a great role, to increase lending and a significant step towards expansion of access in finance in Kosovo.
Mrs. Bahrije Dibra, Senior Coordinator for the Finance and Energy Sector – KfW stressed out that this is an important step for KCGF as we now have agreements with the three largest Microfinance Institutions in Kosovo. We hope that these agreements will facilitate lending and will significantly affect the creation of the best possible conditions for financing farmers and agribusinesses.
Agro Window is a guarantee scheme that operates within the KCGF in order to support farmers and agribusinesses by guaranteeing loans for this sector.
So far, about 27 million euros of agro loans have been guaranteed and there are about 9 million euros of active guarantees in this sector.
The total capital for Agro Window is in the amount of 11.5 million euros which is fully financed by the German Government, through the German Development Bank – KfW.
