The Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF) in 2018 signed a guarantee agreement worth 10 million Euros with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) represented by the Swedish Embassy in Pristina. This agreement was successfully implemented, enabling lending of around 40 million euros to MSMEs.
The Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF) in December 2023 signed the second agreement with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Sida, as two partners who have further strengthened cooperation for the benefit of the country’s economy. This guarantee agreement worth 14.9 million Euros is proof of our commitment to guarantee loans for MSMEs. It is expected that this agreement will facilitate access to finance for MSMEs by enabling them to provide loans of up to 55 million Euros. This agreement has paved the way for providing more favorable conditions for re-guaranteed loans through KCGF windows such as: “Window for Women in Business”; “Export Window” and “GROW Window”. Also, there is an agreememnt on technical assistance non-financial component or dedicated training for women in business.
The Sida support to the KCGF guarantee portfolio will further enhance the Fund’s ability to ensure a higher level of credit guarantees, while also increasing the financial sustainability of the sector. Such sustainability will facilitate financial intermediation, while also having a positive impact in facilitating and encouraging crediting to micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as on the economic growth and employment in the Republic of Kosovo.
